Dr. Kwame McKenzie is the CEO of the Wellesley Institute, a non-profit organization in Toronto aimed at improving health equity through research and policy action on the social determinants of health. He is also a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and the Director of Health Equity at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Dr. McKenzie is internationally recognized for his research in the social and cross-cultural determinants of mental illness. As an academic, policy advisor, and clinician, he has published over 200 papers and 5 books and has been consulted by major news outlets such as the BBC, the Guardian, the Times, and the Toronto Star. Dr. McKenzie currently sits on the National Advisory Council on Poverty, Ontario Hospital Association, and Community Food Centres Canada.
