UTMJ is funded in part by the University of Toronto Medical Society. However, the journal is also very thankful to be supported by the generous gifts of our patrons.

Established in 1923, the UTMJ is Canada's oldest student-run scientific publication. For nearly 100 years, graduate and medical students have been able to review, edit and publish academic medical literature as part of the journal's internationally recognized academic publishing team. We publish a wide array of academic articles including original research, as well as commentary and analysis of important social, political, and economic issues related to medicine. It is with your support that we can make use of this opportunity to develop our own careers in medicine and research, and for that we cannot thank you enough.

Your donations support all aspects of the workings of the journal, including printing of each issue, commissioning cover illustrations, and maintenance of our website. These gifts support the management of communications between authors and editors through OJS software, and support open-access for every UTMJ issue. Further, it is through these donations that UTMJ can offer monetary awards to the best three student submissions within a given issue. All journal staff and reviewers participate as unpaid volunteers.
