New Feature: UTMJ Imaging Case Presentation

View this month's case | Case Answer

UTMJ is introducing a new feature, UTMJ Imaging Case Presentation. This section was initiated by Dr. Eugene Yu, assistant professor of Medical Imaging and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UHN.

For authors:
The editors would like to invite submissions for a new Journal feature: the UTMJ Imaging Case Presentation. These radiology image-based case scenarios are meant to expose the readership to the many different aspects of medical imaging and the role it can play in the management of patients. Authors are asked to submit a write-up consisting of two parts. The first part includes a short and concise history, relevant physical examination and laboratory findings and of course relevant radiology images. In this part, the authors will provide five diagnoses with only one being the correct answer. In the second part, the authors are asked to provide a short write-up of the disease entity including overview, clinical features, interpretation of the images, management and references. Those selected will be published in the Journal. Authors must include at least one individual who is a current medical student, resident or fellow in an accredited program. Each submission will be permitted to include up to 4 co-authors.

For readers:
Readers can submit their diagnosis of the case online in the format of a multiple choice question. A synopsis of the disease entity including overview, clinical features, interpretation of the images and management will be presented with the correct answer.
